Judge Ilievska on the Kocani case: She cannot guarantee an expedited trial

Judge Dijana Gruevska-Ilievska, who is leading the process for the fire at the “Pulse” discotheque in Kocani, said today in the first session that all evidence will be presented, except for some that they consider to be irrelevant, in order not to delay the procedure.
“We can guarantee that we will be as transparent as possible and that we will inform the public. You see that there is no room for all the injured parties and all the family members. Therefore, my recommendation to the entire Council is to at least make arrangements as much as possible, at least one by one. Have the dates and organize yourselves, at least one representative, etc., so that we can work more easily. This Council will do everything it can to ensure that this procedure goes smoothly,” the judge said.
Gruevska Ilievska also said that she cannot guarantee an acceleration of the trial because, as she said, any haste could lead to an error, which could then lead to an unwanted failure of the case.
“No one knows how long the process will last at the moment. Whether it will be five months or five years… in a word, no one can know. I am simply appealing and asking for discipline. If we all start coming regularly, I think the procedure will take place regularly and, as we all want, we will reach the truth and justice,” said the judge at the beginning of the largest trial in the history of Macedonia./Telegraph/
