The launch of three weekly flights to Sal in Cape Verde from May 1, 2026, marks the airport’s reinforced link to the island nation, complementing existing UK connections to the region. With its beaches and desert landscapes, Cape Verde continues to rise in popularity among British travellers, and this increased access is expected to support local tourism.
Further Mediterranean appeal is being introduced through new links to Bari in Italy beginning April 18 and to Seville in Spain starting May 2. Both destinations offer rich cultural and historical elements, making them ideal for travellers drawn to authentic regional experiences. With these additions, Bristol passengers are being provided a wider selection of warm-weather and cultural escapes for the 2026 season.
New Domestic and Continental Links from Birmingham Airport
Birmingham Airport is set to gain two twice-weekly routes that serve both leisure and business needs. Flights to Inverness in Scotland begin on March 30, delivering a domestic tourism boost to the Scottish Highlands, a region known for nature-based travel and heritage exploration. Additionally, a connection to Nice on the French Riviera begins May 1, enabling convenient access to one of Europe’s leading coastal cities for holidaymakers and conference travellers alike.
Growth at Manchester, Liverpool, and London-Area Airports
Manchester Airport will receive new flights to Montpellier in France from March 30 and to Preveza in Greece from June 24. These destinations provide travellers with gateways to both cultural urban centres and coastal resort regions.
Liverpool Airport will gain new routes to Lisbon in Portugal beginning March 31 and to Paphos in Cyprus from August 2, both of which are expected to attract travellers seeking sunshine destinations and city-style getaways. London Southend, the airline’s newest base, will introduce a twice-weekly service to Jersey from March 30, while London Stansted strengthens its European access through a link to Paris Charles de Gaulle starting March 5.

Newcastle Airport will host a new service to Tenerife beginning August 1, providing access to one of Spain’s most popular island destinations known for year-round sun, volcanic landscapes, and resort-focused tourism.
Scotland will see significant growth through four new routes originating from Glasgow Airport. These include new services to Lisbon from March 29, Pisa in Italy and Sharm El Sheikh in Egypt from August 1, and Malta from August 4. These routes are being introduced to support Scotland’s rising prominence as a departure point for international leisure travel.
