Emmerdale Kev’s unexpected link to character ‘exposed’ – but it’s ‘not Lewis’

Emmerdale fans have been speculating Kev Townsend could be related or linked in some way to another character on the ITV soap, but they’re not talking about Lewis Barton

There could be another secret link between two Emmerdale characters according to fans. A scene from Wednesday’s episode may spark further theories surrounding a supposed link between two ‘baddies’. While the episode will air on ITV1 on Wednesday evening, fans can already see the episode now on ITVX.

In the episode there’s a minor scene where Kev Townsend is having a chat with Victoria Sugden. He offers her some money to buy something she cannot afford, leaving her uncomfortable.

But it’s what is said in the scene prior to the offer that might spark questions for some fans. It’s a fairly innocent exchange in conversation, but it comes at a time where fans are speculating about Kev’s ‘true identity’.

Kev was introduced as Robert Sugden’s secret husband some weeks back, who he met in prison. But fans have long speculated that he is somehow tied into the County Lines storyline.

Now, there’s been massive hints that Kev is the long-lost father of Lewis Barton who arrived in the village earlier this year. But some fans wondered if Kev was actually related to someone else.

Ever since his arrival, fans have predicted Kev could be the secret son of Celia Daniels. They’ve questioned whether she may have raised him and dragged him into her dodgy dealings, like she did her ‘son’ Ray Walters.

On Wednesday, there was a moment where, perhaps for the first time since the theories were shared, Kev talked about Ray. While it was Victoria who actually mentioned him, regarding some equipment he may have, Kev acknowledged Ray.

It’s then that he tried to discourage Victoria from purchasing anything from Ray, instead offering to pay Victoria for the item himself. While this was likely an innocent gesture to help his sister-in-law with no dodgy reveal on the way, we don’t doubt there’s some viewers who will suspect the random mention of Ray in this scene could well back the theory the pair are linked.

Again it could be absolutely nothing, but could Ray and Kev be linked, and might it be through Celia? Fans have certainly been suspecting as much in recent weeks, taking to social media to share their thoughts.

One fan said: “Given that two of the three standalone episodes have already involved and linked Celia and Ray, do you think Kev also has some involvement with them?” Another fan said: “I think it’s possible.”

A third fan asked: “Is Kev Celia’s real son and he purposely married Robert due to the farm link?” Another theory echoed this and read: “Is she really Kev’s mum?” A further theory said: “I think she’s Kev’s mum.”
