‘I can’t lose this arse that has taken so long to build’ – Vogue Williams planning gym sessions in ‘I’m a Celeb’ jungle

Vogue joins fellow campmates tonight after arriving in Australia on Sunday.

The podcaster and former model will join up with her fellow campmates on the Virgin Media reality series tonight after arriving in Australia on Sunday.

“I’m just considering the free time I’m going to have in there,” she said on the Vogue and Amber podcast.

“I’m going to have little gym classes, I’ve decided.”

Williams revealed she felt “awkward” lying to her friends when media outlets began reporting her name as being one of the latecomers to the camp, insisting she did not know where they were getting the information form.

“ITV obviously released the main list and then The Sun were like ‘these are the two people that are going in late,’ and so everyone’s like, “you’ve been announced’.”

She said earlier in the week that she would embrace the freedom from mammy duties that comes with the undertaking Down Under, describing her time sway from home so far as “very relaxing”.

“I’m going to just snooze whenever the hell I want because my body clock is going to be screwed.”

Williams urged Irish viewers to “support the Irish” by encouraging their friends or family in the UK to vote for her, considering Irish residents cannot take part in votes for contestants on the show.

“So if you’re listening to this, please vote because Irish people, you’re not allowed vote. If you have any English friends or cousins or colleagues, tell them to vote.”

The jungle experience is synonymous with insects small and large, but Williams has already mentally prepared herself to confront an unlikely phobia.

“If they put me in a bath or something with fish, I just can’t bear fish,” she said.

“You never know what they’re thinking because they’re not thinking.

“I just feel seals and fish, not for me. And lobsters and crabs.”

Williams will arrive in the camp on tonight’s episode alongside actor Tom Read Wilson.

She thought she would never take part in I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! as she has got “too comfortable in her life”, she said.

After turning 40 last month, the My Therapist Ghosted Me podcast co-host said she took on the challenge in the Australian jungle to step out of her comfort zone.

“I always thought I wouldn’t do it, because I’ve gotten too comfortable in my life. I like to have eight hours of sleep, I like to eat nice things, I like to just chill out, and I never put myself out of my comfort zone,” Williams said.

“Then, when I turned 40, I started to get scared of ridiculous things. I didn’t want to be this person. Doing this is such a massive life experience, and it is not something you can pay to do. So now I am 40, I think it will be pretty cool to do I’m A Celebrity…”

However, the mother of three said she is “very worried about missing her kids”. She has two sons, aged seven and three, and one daughter aged four.

“I am scared of everything, but I think what I am going to struggle with the most is missing my children. I have never been away this long before, and I spend such a huge amount of time with them,” she said.

Williams said her phobias include “everything”, but added that “it’s good to face” them. “I think I have a level of fear around most things, and I don’t normally spend time around insects. I know people get stuck in coffins, and I am not looking forward to that either,” she said.

The model and influencer said that this show is tougher than anything she has ever taken on before, including Bear Grylls: Mission Survive.

“I think this is going to be harder because when I did that, I had no responsibilities. I had nobody at home. I was braver back then, too,” she said.

She will not be the first in the family to appear on the show. Her husband, Spencer Matthews, who is “really happy” for his wife to take on the challenge, took part in 2015, but withdrew from the camp after a few days.

“He is excited, and he thinks I will enjoy it,” Williams said. “But he is going to be doing his next challenge when I am in the middle of doing this. Thankfully, I have got a big Irish family who are helping us [with childcare].”

She said she will definitely be having a shower in the camp “because I don’t want to be smelly”, but says she doesn’t think she will ever be as iconic as previous contestant, Myleene Klass, who famously wore a white bikini in the showers.

I don’t think I will be doing a Myleene,” she said, referring to the 2006 viral moment.

She will join the cast of celebrity contestants, including actor and musician Martin Kemp, Jack Osbourne and British rapper Aitch.

Her earnings from the reality series are reported to be as high as €500,000.

‘I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!’ airs nightly at 9pm on Virgin Media Play and Virgin Media One
