Fire crews rescue driver trapped in floodwaters in north Phoenix

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A pickup truck driver is safe and sound after being rescued from floodwaters in far north Phoenix on Wednesday night.

Rescue teams were called out to a driver trapped at 14th Street and Paint Your Wagon Trail, which is south of Carefree Highway.

Firefighters said they used a ladder to reach the white truck. Crews used a tether line to get him safely back to dry land.

The driver didn’t need to go to the hospital. Firefighters didn’t say how the driver ended up stuck in the raging floodwaters.
