Dustin Johnson Confirms 2026 LIV Return — And Drops Surprise 4 Aces Announcement

Dustin Johnson has confirmed that he will be returning to LIV Golf for the 2026 season. The 41-year-old recently signed a new contract believed to be worth over $100 million, ending speculations about a potential return to the PGA Tour. He also made a surprise announcement about the 4 Aces roster for the new season.

Johnson Confirms 4 Aces Return

Johnson first joined LIV Golf in 2022, after he resigned from the PGA Tour. Over the years, he has spoken about valuing the flexibility the league offers as he enters the later stages of his career. The American’s return coincides with an off-season reshuffle at LIV, where teams are shaping their rosters for what many expect to be one of the league’s biggest seasons yet. His confirmation gives 4 Aces GC stability and signals his commitment to the tour’s future. He is widely expected to be an important figure for his 4 Aces GC team next year as they hope to return to winning ways following a forgettable season.

Johnson Makes Surprise 4 Aces Roster Announcement

Johnson has also confirmed that he will be returning as captain of the 4 Aces for the 2026 season. The LIV Golf transfer window has officially opened, allowing teams to now trade or sign players ahead of the 2026 season. Speaking after ending his season at the PIF Saudi International, the 41-year-old announced that the 4 Aces roster will remain unchanged for 2026.

“Yes, I am. Captain of 4 Aces,” he said when asked if he was returning. When asked if there would be any team changes, he simply replied: “No, my team is staying the same.”

The two-time major champion’s announcement that the 4 Aces team will remain unchanged for the forthcoming season has taken many by surprise following their seventh-place finish in the team standings. 4 Aces won the Team Championship in dominant fashion in 2022, and many hoped that there would be changes as the team tries to return to form and put a dismal season behind them. But following Johnson’s confirmation, the team’s 2026 roster will remain Dustin Johnson (c), Thomas Pieters, Patrick Reed, and Harold Varner III.

Johnson won the LIV Golf 2022 Individual Championship. As captain, he also helped the 4 Aces to strong performances, including winning the team competition in 2022. However, he has had a dip in form, and finished 14th in the individual standings this year. The American’s Official World Golf Ranking also plummeted after missing the cut at the 2025 U.S. Open and the Masters, and he ends the season without a win for the first time since 2014.
