Bills vs Texans injury updates during Thursday Night Football game

The Buffalo Bills injuries have flipped from defense to offense.
Buffalo defensive tackle Phidarian Mathis is the team’s only defensive player out due to injury against the Houston Texans on Thursday Night Football.
Tight end Dalton Kincaid and wide receivers Curtis Samuel are out for the Bills. Houston is playing without quarterback C.J. Stroud, linebacker Jamal Hill and safety Jalen Pitre.
Here’s who got hurt during the game on Thursday Night Football.
Buffalo Bills
Khalil Shakir, WR
Khalil Shakir was checked for a head injury with 3:13 left in the first quarter.
Shakir caught a screen pass and was tackled for a 2-yard loss by cornerback Kamari Lassiter. As Shakir was spun around his head hit the knee of defensive end Derek Barnett. Shakir got up shaking his head and was likely identified by a spotter to undergo an evaluation. Shakir went into the blue medical tent and was back on the field for the Bills’ next punt return.
Josh Allen, QB
Josh Allen was nicked up but did not miss any plays.
Late in the first quarter, Allen stepped up in the pocket and cocked his arm back to throw near the line of scrimmage when he was walloped by Houston Texans defensive end Will Anderson Jr. from behind.
Allen face-planted to the ground, kicked his legs while on his stomach and then rolled onto his back still kicking his leg in pain and holding his hands together.
The quarterback walked to the sideline and took a seat on the bench. He put his helmet on, warmed up on the sideline and returned for the Bills’ next series.
Amazon Prime sideline reporter Kaylee Hartung said Allen had his left elbow taped up for what appeared to be turf burn and briefly spoke with coaches and trainers.
Dion Dawkins, OT
Dion Dawkins was evaluated for a concussion in the final minute of the first quarter was replaced by Ryan Van Demark. Dawkins was cleared to return.
Reggie Gilliam, FB
Reggie Gilliam went into the blue medical tent and quickly returned to the game.
Christian Benford, CB
Christian Benford walked off the field with trainers and went into the blue medical tent late in second quarter.
Houston Texans
Nico Collins, WR
Nico Collins was injured on a 19-yard catch with 51 seconds left in the second quarter. Collins made the grab for a first down but was leveled by safety Cole Bishop and was slow to get up.
Aireontae Ersery, OT
Aireontae Ersery was down on one knee and the Texans were forced to take their final timeout to avoid a 10-second runoff in the final seconds of the second quarter. The next snap, which was a touchdown pass from Davis Mills to Jayden Higgins, was the first snap Ersery has missed this season.
