Ariana Grande cancels plans after diagnosis

Ariana Grande has tested positive for Covid-19, forcing her to cancel her upcoming appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show.
The actress revealed the news in an Instagram Story post today.
Ariana, 32, also shared a photo from her appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon earlier this week, where she appeared to be well.
She explained in the caption that the sit-down took place “moments before Covid,” which caused her to miss part of the Wicked: For Good press tour.
According to Kelly’s show’s Instagram, Ariana and her co-star, Cynthia Erivo, 38, are expected to be on Friday’s episode.
However, Variety reports that Cynthia will appear on the segment alone.
Days earlier, Ariana voluntarily skipped interviews at the New York premiere of the film in solidarity with Cynthia, who was ill and lost her voice.
Wicked: For Good is in cinemas now.

Ariana recently discussed scaling back her work commitments after devoting herself to her Wicked character, Glinda, for the past couple of years, as well as to her role in the Meet the Fockers sequel.
During a visit to The Good Hang podcast with host Amy Poehler, the singer explained why her mini tour next summer might be fans’ last chance to see her perform in concert.
“The last 10 or 15 years were very different than the ones that are coming up. And I don’t want to say definitively… I do know I’m very excited for this small tour,” the former Disney star shared.
“But I think it might not happen again for a long, long, long time. I’m going to give it my all. And it’s going to be beautiful, and I’m so grateful,” Ariana continued.
But that’s why I’m doing it. I’m like, one last hurrah. For now.”
Listeners reacted to Ariana’s comment on social media, with many taking it as her unofficial “retirement announcement.”
Others begged the Thank You, Next singer to reconsider and at least plan a bigger tour, giving more fans outside the U.S. and more opportunities to go.
Ariana’s Eternal Sunshine Tour kicks off in Oakland, California, on June 6, 2026, and will make stops in Los Angeles, Texas, Florida, Georgia, New York, Illinois, and Massachusetts.
There are also select dates set for Montreal, Canada, and London.
