Octopus Energy tells millions of customers to ‘press button’ before next Tuesday
Octopus is bringing in Pink Friday – to rival Black Friday – and giving customers freebies ahead of Christmas. From free Greggs sausage rolls to cinema trips, chocolates, cute plushies, and £8 off UberEats takeaways, the energy supplier is turning the annual spending spree into a nationwide saving spree.
Every day from 24–28 November, ‘Octoplus’ customers can enter into a prize draw to win one of two brand new electric cars courtesy of sister brand Octopus Electric Vehicles – the Jaecoo J5 Pure or the OMODA E5 Noble, it adds.
Pink Friday week will include Greggs Treat Drop – 8,000 free Greggs sausage rolls (or savoury item of your choice!) – and Constantine Chocolates – thousands of packs of free chocolates – on Monday and Tuesday.

Wednesday sees ODEON Movie Night – up to 2 free cinema tickets per customer – and Thursday brings with it Constantine Plushie Takeover – 10,000 free plush toys given away.
On Friday, customers get The Big One – £8 off UberEats for a Friday night takeaway, followed by the folowing Monday’s Cyber Monday – £8 dishes at AskItalian.
Octopus customers can get involved in the festivities by clicking on the ‘Octoplus’ button in the Octopus Energy app. Treats will drop in the app each day and customers will need to bag them before they go!
‘Octoplus’ customers will also be prompted to enter a daily prize draw to win one of the two available electric cars.
Two winners will be selected and contacted on Friday, 28 November, between 3pm and 3.30pm, when they must correctly answer the question “What day is it?” with the not-so-secret phrase “It’s Pink Friday” when asked on the call.
Rebecca Dibb-Simkin, Chief Marketing and Product Officer at Octopus Energy, said: “Black Friday can be about buying stuff we don’t need.
“So we thought we’d do the opposite – give thousands of things people’ll actually enjoy, for free. Pink Friday is about fun, fairness and flipping the script on consumerism.”
The pink-powered campaign runs from 24 November to 2 December.
