What is LG Gaming Portal and why it matters
The LG Gaming Portal acts as a single hub for webOS gaming services. It aggregates content from multiple cloud partners and now lists more than 4,000 titles and 600 free games globally. Users can launch and play any supported game without a console, provided they have a Game Pass subscription, a compatible controller, and stable high-speed internet.
The new Xbox app is now live within the portal. Titles such as Forza Horizon 5, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, and Raji: An Ancient Epic are available to stream through Xbox Cloud Gaming. LG is positioning this update as a way to simplify access to high-performance gaming for casual players and enthusiasts.

LG says its current TV portfolio can handle fast gameplay with low latency and reduced artefacts. Supported models offer features such as G-Sync compatibility, up to 165Hz VRR, Intertek-certified 0.1ms response time, AMD FreeSync Premium, and up to Clear MR 10000 certification. These specs aim to ensure consistent motion handling during cloud-streamed sessions.
Brian Jung, Director at LG Media Entertainment Solution Company, said the company aims to make gaming ‘more accessible, convenient, and enjoyable for everyone.’
The update arrives at a time when TV brands are expanding cloud gaming integrations. Samsung and Amazon Fire TV already support Xbox Cloud Gaming and other services on select models. LG’s move helps it stay competitive by turning its mid-range and premium TVs into standalone gaming devices, reducing hardware barriers for new players.
Availability
The LG Gaming Portal and Xbox app are rolling out across compatible 2021 to 2025 LG Smart TVs in India starting today. Users will find the feature on the home screen once the software update arrives. A Game Pass subscription is required to stream Xbox titles.
