Reports Confirm Delay in Sharahili’s Return and Increase Defensive Ittihad’s Worries

New developments reveal that Al-Ittihad Saudi Club has received a severe shock concerning the readiness date of defender Ahmed Sharahili, who is still suffering from the aftermath of a hamstring injury that has kept him out of participation throughout the past period.

According to the Saudi newspaper Al-Riyadiyah, Sharahili needs an additional 4 weeks before returning to play, despite his participation in group training sessions over the past two days, which dashes the hopes of the coaching staff in relying on him for the upcoming matches.

The report confirmed that the defender will not be ready before the end of the international break lasting until late December, meaning his continued absence from Al-Ittihad in the upcoming rounds of the Roshn Saudi League.

Information revealed that the medical staff deemed it necessary to grant him more time to ensure his full recovery, despite his recent partial participation, to avoid re-injury and its impact on the team’s journey during the season.

Sharahili has only played 3 matches this season, totaling 45 minutes, before the injury hindered his role in the defensive line, at a time when Al-Ittihad is suffering from clear defensive fluctuations.

Al-Ittihad currently occupies the eighth position in the league table with 11 points after 8 rounds, while today it faces Al-Riyadh team in the ninth round hoping to improve its position despite significant absences.

The coaching staff is preparing to find alternative solutions amid the continued absence of one of its most important defensive elements, as the team looks forward to regaining its balance before entering a sensitive phase of the season.
