The Winnipeg Jets are shutting down goaltender Connor Hellebuyck so he can undergo a minor arthroscopic knee procedure, according to TSN Hockey Insider Darren Dreger.
He is expected to miss 4-to-6 weeks for his recovery.

Hellebuyck and the team concluded take care of the knee problem now after the goaltender had been dealing with the issue for awhile, according to Dreger.
The 32-year-old goaltender last appeared during the team’s 4-3 shootout victory over the Calgary Flames on Saturday, making 31 saves for the victory.
Hellebuyck has an 8-6-0 record this season with a 2.51 goals-against average and .913 save percentage.
The 6-foot-4 netminder was the league’s most dominant goaltender last season, going 47-12-3 with a .925 save percentage and 2.00 GAA. His play helped the Jets win the Presidents’ Trophy for the best record in the regular season and he was won the Hart Trophy and Vezina Trophy for his efforts.
Eric Comrie is expected to take over the starting netminder duties in his absence and the Jets recalled goalie Thomas Milic from the AHL’s Manitoba Moose.
Comrie, 30, made 22 saves in the Jets’ 5-2 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday and has a 4-1-0 record this season with a .908 save percentage and 2.60 GAA.
Milic was drafted 151st overall by the Jets in 2023 and has a 5-2-2 record in the AHL this season with a .921 save percentage and 2.14 GAA.
Winnipeg sits in third place in the Central Division with a 12-7-9 record this season and host the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday followed by the Minnesota Wild on Sunday.
