What area grocery stores are open on Thanksgiving?

It happens to the best of us. No matter how well we prepare for Thanksgiving Day, sometimes there’s that moment of dread when we realize at the last second that we forgot something, be it that special ingredient needed for the stuffing, an extra pumpkin pie, or perhaps a few more sweet potatoes to round out the feast.
No worries. There are plenty of area grocery stores that will be open come Nov. 27. But don’t dawdle, because all of them will be closing by late afternoon.
Here are the Thanksgiving hours for the following grocery stores in Staunton, Waynesboro and Augusta County:
Staunton
- Walmart on Richmond Avenue is closed.
- Kroger on Statler Boulevard will close at 4 p.m.
- Food Lion on North Coalter Street will close at 4 p.m.
- Food Lion on West Beverley Street will close at 4 p.m.
- Food Lion in Orchard Hill Square will close at 4 p.m.
- Martin’s on Richmond Avenue will close at 2 p.m.
- Aldi on George Cochran Parkway is closed.
- Cranberry’s Grocery & Eatery on South New Street is closed.
Waynesboro
- Sharp Shopper Grocery Outlet on West Main Street is closed.
- Food Lion on Hopeman Parkway will close at 4 p.m.
- Aldi on Shenandoah Village Drive is closed.
- Martin’s on Tiffany Drive will close at 2 p.m.
- Kroger on Arch Avenue will close at 4 p.m.
- Walmart Supercenter on Lucy Lane is closed.
- Walmart Neighborhood Market on West Broad Street is closed.
Augusta County
- Food Lion on Laurel Hill Road in Verona will close at 4 p.m.
- Food Lion on Augusta Avenue in Grottoes will close at 4 p.m.
- Food Lion on Windward Drive in Fishersville will close at 4 p.m.
- Food Lion in Windmill Square in Stuarts Draft will close at 4 p.m.
- Stuarts Draft Farm Market on Stuarts Draft Highway will close at 5 p.m.
