Breath of Life Church, 1313 S. Pine St., will hold its Youth Sunday Service at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. The featured speaker is Tyrese McGhee, a staffer with the Jefferson-Lincoln County Sixth Division Juvenile Court. He is a youth pastor at the Tree of Life Church of God in Christ in Little Rock, working in the young adult ministry. McGhee is from Rison. An alumnus of the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, he earned a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and political science, along with an associate’s degree in law enforcement. He is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. and was elected as Fraternity Member of the Year in 2024. His career is focused on legal affairs and youth development. During his undergraduate studies, McGhee excelled as a full-time student while working at Chosen Law Group, according to a news release. Jennifer Lee is Breath of Life’s youth director and the Rev. Kerry Price Sr. is pastor.
FAITH COMMUNITY CHURCH, 3703 Ryburn Road, in the Watson Chapel community, will hold its Christmas bazaar from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. The bazaar will include handmade crafts, decorations, baked goods, candies, frozen casseroles, soups, wreaths and other items, according to a flyer.
ST. JOHN AME CHURCH, 1117 W. Pullen St., will give away food boxes to those who are in need, Saturday, from 9 a.m. until all food is gone. Food boxes are picked up in front of the church on Cherry Street. For safety reasons, recipients are asked to stay in their vehicles and open their trunks. State ID’s are required to receive one box per family, according to a news release.
NEW COMMUNITY CHURCH, 321 N. Birch St., will give away food Saturday from 8-9:30 a.m. The community is invited to participate. Also, New Community will hold its Kingdom Builders program at 6 p.m. Sunday. The featured speaker will be Wanda Murry, a member of New Community.
