Natalie Portman Looks to Jonathan Anderson’s Dior Shoes for 2025 Governors Awards in Bow Sandals

Natalie Portman attended the 2025 Governors Awards in Hollywood on Sunday wearing baby blue items from Dior, including a custom dress and a spring 2026 sandal style.

The shoe style came from the debut womenswear Dior collection of Jonathan Anderson, who recently came on board as creative director, moving from Loewe. His team at Dior includes designer Nina Christen, who has created buzzy designs for The Row among other accomplishments in footwear, as design director of shoes. The two previously worked together at Loewe.

Portman showcased a silhouette which Christen had teased on social media ahead of the spring 2026 show, which was presented during Paris Fashion Week on Oct. 1. Portman wore a slingback heel with a unique sole shape, including a toe which was rounded on one side and pointed on the other. A simple toe strap was adorned with a thick bow.

Crafted in light blue satin, the shoes accompanied a sculptural mini dress with a dramatic flared skirt and color blocked layered element in blue and white. The garment used the design of tiny floral appliqués seen on a longer dress on the runway. Portman accessorized with a necklace and earrings from Tiffany and Co.

The synergy between Anderson and Christen brought about many other interesting shoe styles. The Dior spring 2026 collection also included heels with oversized rosette embellishments, sleek loafers with an opening in the letter ‘o’ of Dior, pumps with sharpened back heel counters and more styles.

Chilean-Swiss designer Christen, who is also the creative director and founder of her own brand Christen, will be honored at the 2025 Footwear News Achievement Awards with the Designer of the Year award.
