Adelaide weather forecast for Monday November 17th and the days ahead

South Australians are set for a week of classic late-November unpredictability, with the Bureau of Meteorology forecasting a mix of showers, cool spells and a warm finish as the weekend approaches.
Adelaide begins the week under grey skies, with Monday delivering a top of 19 degrees and showers likely for most of the day. Rain is expected to pick up in the late morning and afternoon, paired with brisk southwesterly winds reaching 25 to 35 km/h. It’s a cool, wet start that will keep conditions feeling below average for this time of year, especially across southern suburbs and coastal areas.
Tuesday brings a slight lift in temperature, ranging from a 13 degrees minimum to a 21 degrees maximum. Showers remain in the picture, mainly through the morning and afternoon, as winds shift from westerly to southwesterly later in the day. While Tuesday won’t be quite as chilly as Monday, conditions will still feel noticeably mild for late November, with lingering coastal showers and drizzle about the foothills.
By Wednesday, Adelaideans can finally expect a breather. Partly cloudy skies, lighter winds and minimal rainfall will break up the run of damp weather. With only a slight chance of a shower on the hills-facing suburbs, most of the city will enjoy a calmer day in between systems, creating a welcome mid-week reprieve for commuters and outdoor plans.
Thursday continues the easing trend with clearer skies early and temperatures nudging up to a pleasant 22 degrees. While most of the day will remain dry, the broader statewide forecast indicates the chance of isolated thunderstorms about the agricultural area, particularly near windward coasts and ranges — a sign of the instability still lingering across southern districts.
From Friday onwards, Adelaide will begin warming significantly, with temperatures climbing across the weekend. Both Saturday and Sunday are expected to reach around 28 degrees, signalling a proper taste of the warmer weather many have been waiting for. But the warm-up brings its own risk: showers are possible again on Saturday and may extend into Sunday, as humid air and daytime heating combine to increase the likelihood of patchy rainfall or a thunderstorm, particularly inland.
Marine conditions also warrant attention. The Bureau has issued strong wind warnings for Monday across the South Central Coast, Upper South East Coast and Lower South East Coast. Boaters and fishers are urged to exercise caution and stay across updated advice as conditions may remain choppy through the early part of the week.
Statewide, the pattern reflects a classic spring-to-summer transition. Monday sees widespread showers across the agricultural areas while the north stays dry. Over the following days, isolated showers persist about southern districts, especially along exposed coasts and ranges, before the warm air arrives late week to lift temperatures once more.
