Kate Hudson Celebrates Mom Goldie Hawn’s 80th Birthday with Candid Family Photos: ‘We Love You’

Kate Hudson is celebrating mom Goldie Hawn’s milestone 80th birthday.

On Friday, Nov. 21, Oscar-winner Hawn turned 80, and Hudson, 46, celebrated on Instagram by sharing adorable family photos from over the years, featuring her kids, brother Oliver and the rest of the family, including Goldie’s longtime partner Kurt Russell, their son Wyatt Russell and Kurt’s son Boston Russell.

“Birthday Love,” Hudson wrote. “To distill half of her life that I’ve known into a single caption feels impossible. I have been the lucky recipient of novels of love and wisdom from her. She is truly extraordinary and as I celebrate her every day, today we all get to share in it!”

“Please join me in wishing a huge Happy Birthday to this 80 year old queen goddess!” the Song Sung Blue star added in the caption. “We love you Mama.”

Kurt, 74, shares son Boston, 45, with ex-wife Season Hubley. Hawn had Kate and Oliver, 49, with ex-husband Bill Hudson, but both of her actor children consider Russell, whom Hawn has been in a relationship with since 1983, to be their father.

Kate’s three children — she is a mom to sons Ryder, 21 and Bingham, 14, as well as daughter Rani, 7 — also appear in the star’s photos.

A number of the family’s celebrity friends, including Nancy Meyers, Karlie Kloss, Rita Wilson and Justin Theroux, chimed in in the comments of Kate’s Instagram post to wish the legendary actress a happy birthday. “Scorpio sister Goldie!!!! So much love and thanks!” Wilson, who turned 69 in October, wrote.

Kate, Oliver, Hawn and Russell most recently stepped out together at the 2025 Will Rogers Pioneer of the Year dinner on Oct. 8 in Beverly Hills, where Kate was celebrated for her career achievements and philanthropic efforts over the years.

Goldie last appeared on the big screen in the two Christmas Chronicles she made with Russell in 2018 and 2020; the pair played Mrs. Claus and Santa Claus in the holiday comedies. She has said as recently as in September 2024 that she wants to make a comedy that her entire family can star in together.

Kate will next appear on the big screen opposite Hugh Jackman in Song Sung Blue, in theaters Dec. 25.
