Major UK supermarket to shut all shops across country for three days as warning issued

One of the UK’s biggest supermarkets has confirmed it will be closed for three entire days, leaving shoppers with little other options during a vital shopping period

The shops will shut
A major UK supermarket will shut for three days – because of it being the most wonderful time of the year (allegedly). Aldi has released its festive opening hours, detailing when shoppers can pop in for their Christmas and New Year essentials.
Up until Tuesday, December 23, Aldi’s doors, including its newest branches, will be open as per usual, allowing customers to stock up on all their Christmas necessities before spending two days panicking about forgetting things and looking for somewhere else to go when, in fact, everywhere is closed.
However, on Christmas Eve, stores will be shutting up shop a bit earlier than normal, closing at 6pm. They’ll then remain closed on both Christmas Day and Boxing Day, giving staff a well-earned rest (unlike journalists who will be working both days, which is not a dig at Aldi . . . to clarify).
It’ll be closed for three days
The supermarket chain will swing its doors back open from 8am on Saturday, December 27 – where you can probably find major discounted Christmas food to stock up on for the next few weeks – operating regular hours until 6pm on Wednesday, December 31. Stores will then take a breather on New Year’s Day.
