A film from the Mission Impossible franchise that some fans believe tops them all because of its action packed scenes and incredible stunts is available to watch tonight

Action film devotees will be in their element tonight when an instalment from one of the most famous franchises in the genre is available to watch. The Mission Impossible series stars Hollywood acting legend Tom Cruise as Ethan Hunt.
In the fourth instalment, Ethan, who is a field agent for secret government agency, the Impossible Missions Force (IMF), returns in Mission Impossible – Ghost Protocol. This time though he is the one being forced to defend his name. Despite all of the blockbusters in the series being renowned for their high-octane adventure, some fans believe this is the best of them all with its seriously impressive stunts, most of which were performed by Cruise and the cast themselves.
Ethan and his team are ordered to infiltrate the Russian Kremlin, but the mission goes wrong when it is blown up in a terrorist attack. With the IMF disavowed by the President, who initiates Ghost Protocol, and a strategist intent on igniting nuclear war between Russia and America, the team must go off-grid without their usual resources.

To make matters worse Ethan is unsure if the fugitive agents he is working with to clear the IMF’s name are genuine. Simon Pegg stars as new field agent Benji, Jeremy Renner is intelligence analyst William and Paula Patton is Jane – Ethan’s fellow agent.
Directed by Brad Bird in his live-action debut, Ghost Protocol was filmed in various locations including Moscow, Dubai, Mumbai and Budapest. On its release in 2011 it became the fifth highest grossing film of the year, taking $694.7 million (£531.3 million) worldwide. It was warmly received by critics who noted Bird’s direction, the action scenes and of course, Cruise’s performance.
Fans of the film agreed and some even claim it beats all the others in the series. On Rotten Tomatoes, where it has a 93% positive rating, one said: “The best in the franchise, and an amazing movie.! love the action, the stunts, the story and so much more. I definitely recommend it.”

Another agreed: “Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol has amazing stunts, a great cast, and is above all thrilling, which makes it one of the best in the series.” A third fan backed them up with: “This is definitely one of the best Mission Impossible Films. The Action Sequence is good, The visuals are fantastic, The storyline is perfect, and the cast is packed. Tom Cruise really knows how to make his movies exciting, really the best actor of all time. I just love Tom Cruise and Mission Impossible Movies!!!”
“The stakes keep getting bigger, the action keeps getting better, the spectacle keeps getting grander. It makes sense as Ethan Hunt’s success keeps elevating him to bigger missions. This one had a pretty clear plot and a nice dynamic between a new crew but of course, it all hinges on the action, which was very successful,” said another.
Mission Impossible – Ghost Protocol airs on E4 at 9pm tonight, Friday 21 November.
