'Conjuring' marathon coming to HBO, with streaming premiere of 'The Conjuring: Last Rites'

Rhode Islanders know that Burrillville’s The Conjuring House spawned a movie universe, and starting Nov. 21, all nine films of that universe will be available to stream on HBO Max, including the streaming premiere of the final installment in the “Conjuring” timeline: “The Conjuring: Last Rites.”

To mark that premiere, HBO will feature a Nov. 22 marathon showing of seven of the films from the “Conjuring” universe:

“The Nun,” 7:35 a.m.
“The Nun II,” 9:15 a.m.
“Annabelle,” 11:08 a.m.
“Annabelle: Creation,” 12:50 p.m.
“The Conjuring,” 2:43 p.m.
“The Conjuring 2,” 4:38 p.m.
“The Conjuring: Last Rites,” 8 p.m.

The movie that started it all, 2013’s “The Conjuring,” tells the story of the Perron family, who lived in the house on Burrillville’s Round Top Road in the 1970s and said they were beset by malicious spirits. The four films of the main “Conjuring” story line follow the exploits of Ed and Lorraine Warren, self-proclaimed demonologists from Connecticut, who investigated a variety of supernatural events. The wider universe include five films following two other story lines: “Annabelle” and “The Nun.”

Three other films, which include characters from nine-movie universe, are often mentioned in discussions of the film franchises: “Wolves at the Door” (2016), “The Curse of La Llorona” (2019) and a sequel whose production was announced in October, “The Revenge of La Llorona.”
