Kansas City to shine in new Hallmark Channel Christmas special featuring Brad Paisley

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (KCTV) – Kansas City is getting ready to step back into the spotlight this holiday season.

The city will serve as the backdrop for a new Hallmark Channel special that will include pre-recorded musical performances by Brad Paisley and Mickey Guyton.

“A Hometown Holiday Christmas Special” will be filmed the weekend of Nov. 28-30. Crews will film all weekend at Crown Center Square and during the Hallmark Christmas Experience. Cameras will also be on hand for the Mayor’s Christmas Tree lighting.

Paisley recorded his performance at the Grand Ole Opry.

The Christmas special will first air on Saturday, Dec. 6 at 9 p.m. on Hallmark Channel. It will be available to stream the following day on Hallmark Plus.

Other familiar faces will also appear in the special, including Benjamin Ayers and Tyler Hynes, who starred in “Holiday Touchdown: A Chiefs Love Story.”

The new Christmas special will coincide with the return of the Hallmark Christmas Experience.

The experience opens Nov. 28. It allows fans to step into the town square of a Hallmark movie. There is also a Holiday Hallmarket where shoppers can wrap up their holiday shopping lists.

Swing by and set your sights on Kansas City’s 100-foot-tall Mayor’s Christmas Tree in Crown Center Square. There is also a light show that takes place in the square on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights starting at 6 p.m.

Get out of the chill and relax by watching the “Home Sweet Hallmark Movie-Thon” in the Hallmark Visitors Center. Free seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis at the following times:

  • Fridays & Saturdays
  • Sundays
