New On Netflix In December: ‘The Abandons, Cover-Up, Knives Out,’ The NFL, Paul vs. Joshua, And More

Tis the season, in more ways than one. The month of December means Thanksgiving is over, there are a dwindling number of shopping days until Christmas, and a new batch of Netflix new releases. Among those new releases for the coming month are The Abandons, Cover-Up, Goodbye June, Jay Kelly, Elway a new Knives Out mystery, a couple of NFL games, and Jake Paul vs. Anthony Joshua.
• A colossal global showdown between boxing’s biggest disruptor, international superstar and WBA #14-ranked cruiserweight Jake “El Gallo de Dorado” Paul (12-1, 7 KOs) and two-time unified WBO, WBA, and IBF heavyweight world champion, Olympic gold medalist and knockout machine Anthony “AJ” Joshua (28-4, 25 KOs).
• Washington Territory – 1854 – The matriarchs of two very different families — one of wealth and privilege bound by blood, the other a found family of orphans and outcasts bound by love and necessity — find their fates linked by two crimes, an awful secret, a star-crossed love, and a piece of land with silver underneath in the new film The Abandons.
• Cover-Up is a political thriller that traces the explosive career of Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative reporter Seymour Hersh. Urgent and deeply reported, Cover-Up is both a portrait of a relentless journalist and an indictment of institutional violence — revealing a cycle of impunity in the U.S. military and intelligence agencies.
