After the Houston Rockets lost star guard Fred VanVleet to a season-ending injury, the depth of the backcourt took a massive hit. Houston has been using a guard-by-committee approach for a point guard, but this can only last for so long.
This Rockets team has real title aspirations this season, and due to this, it may see the front office look to make some additions at the trade deadline. Houston has a very strong roster after trading for star forward Kevin Durant over the offseason, giving themselves a legitimate go-to type of player.
After finishing as the second-best team in the Western Conference last season, the Rockets didn’t rest on their laurels and instead pushed all the chips in. But this team does need help in the backcourt if they want to make some noise this season.
But how the team goes about this remains unknown at this point; however, it is paramount that the front office addresses the problem soon. This franchise can’t afford to have a wasted year, especially with Durant being an older star.
This is just a prediction, NOT a report!

Houston Rockets Bring Back James Harden
As the Rockets try to figure out how they want to proceed with the backcourt issues, one option could be to bring in a familiar face. That would be star guard James Harden, who is currently with the Los Angeles Clippers.
Harden is a beloved figure in the city of Houston and within the Rockets organization, and this could be a perfect moment for a reunion. The Clippers are in a free fall right now, and the team may be looking for ways to save itself for the future.
Trading Harden could be one way to make it happen, and he could be used well in Houston. Harden has plenty of experience playing alongside Durant, and the two have a lot of respect for one another.
The two stars have even spoken about playing together again, and the Rockets could make it happen. Harden would get a chanc eto retunr ot the place that he established himself in the league with, while also getting a chance to go after a title.
Due to his high salary, the two sides would need to get creative, but we have seen teams operate in interesting ways to get deals done. This could be one of the better moves for the Rockets to make, and it could be a welcome return for the star guard.
Harden could finish his career in Houston, which was always going to be his plan until the team started losing toward the end of his tenure. This would be a true full-circle moment, and it would be one of the better narratives across the entire NBA this season.
