Strictly Come Dancing star Karen Hauer has said she is ‘so grateful’ as she shared a ‘small update’ with fans after previously sharing worrying news about one of her beloved dogs.
The professional dancer, who was competing in the BBC One dance contest with Gladiator Harry Aikines-Aryeetey before their exit earlier this month, was flooded with support from fans in October when she told how her and partner Simon Davidson’s ‘hearts broke’ as they were given some upsetting news about their pup, Betty.
Alongside pictures of the adorable pooch, including during her recent vet visits, Karen explained: “Last week Simon felt two small lumps on Betty’s belly and under her armpit. We took her to the vet, and the results showed traces of cancer. Our hearts broke.
“It’s grade one as far as we know, and our vets have been absolutely incredible. They’ll be doing further tests to make sure they have all the info and can guide us through the next steps to give our Betty the best treatment possible.” She then pleaded: “Please check your fur babies for any lumps or bumps… early detection can make all the difference. S&K.”
Now, Karen has shared some positive news. Alongside a new picture of Betty, she wrote on her Instagram Story: “Our little Betty Boo [heart emoji]. A small update… her results have come back all clear.
She’s healing well and just needs a bit more rest. Thank you so much for all your prayers and the lovely messages. So grateful our baby girl is healthy.”

It came as Karen also took to social media to share her pride for her former rugby star beau as his work highlighting men’s mental health continues. Simon has been seen taking part in Movember challenges as an ambassador for the charity, as well as physically demanding events in order to spread the message.
Alongside a picture of Simon on her Instagram Story on Wednesday (November 19), Karen shared: “So proud of this man. Tonight he’s at 10 Downing Street, speaking for men’s mental health… A cause he lives and breathes. Grateful to walk through life with him @sidavidson9 [heart emoji].”
Karen and Simon reportedly met through friends Gorka Marquez and Gemma Atkinson. Fans may recall that back in February 2023, Karen went ‘Instagram official’ with her new man after speculation about their relationship began in December 2022.
At the time, Karen was said to have been seen leaving the Strictly 2023 final with the former sports star having split from her ex-husband Jordan Wyn-Jones after marrying just over a year earlier.
