This is the live blog for Arman Tsarukyan vs. Dan Hooker, the lightweight main event of Saturday’s UFC Qatar event at Ali Bin Hamad al-Attiyah Arena in Doha.
Tsarukyan believes a win can punch his ticket to a championship opportunity as he returns to action for the first time since defeating Charles Oliveira at UFC 300 in April 2024. The 29-year-old was slated to begin the year by challenging Islam Makhachev for the lightweight title at UFC 311 but an injury forced him out of the bout the day before the event. Tsarukyan enters his third promotional headliner on a four-fight win streak.
Hooker returns to the main event slot as he also makes his first appearance of 2025. After a tough 1-4 stretch between June 2020 and March 2022, “The Hangman” has bounced back in a big way, winning three consecutive bouts. In his most recent outing, Hooker defeated Mateusz Gamrot via unanimous decision at UFC 305 in August 2024.
