Clemson picked up a 20-19 win at Louisville last week to finish 4-4 in the Atlantic Coast Conference, taking the lead on Adam Randall’s one-yard touchdown run with 7:16 remaining in the game. Randall finished with 105 yards and two scores on 15 carries while Cade Klubnik settled for short passes, going 22-of-34 for 187 yards. Avieon Terrell recovered a fumble he forced as both teams turned the ball over once. Antonio Williams caught seven passes for 52 yards.
Furman never trailed last week, closing out SoCon play with a 32-14 win over visiting VMI. Trey Hedden finished 33-of-46 for 275 yards and two touchdowns while Ben Croasdale and Jayquan Smith scored on the ground. Croasdale had 70 yards on 14 carries to pace a Paladin run game that had 174 yards. Evan James caught nine balls for 70 yards and two TDs while Ja’Keith Hamilton had eight grabs for 97 yards.
Furman and Clemson played from 1914-62, save for three years during World War II, but the Tigers have won 32 straight against the Paladins, who last won in 1936, with Clemson leading the all-time series 44-10-4. The most recent meeting was a 35-12 win by the Tigers at home in 2022.
