They made it six in unconventional fashion.
The ball made its way to Livingstone on a reverse sweep late in the first quarter as Manning leaked out into the right flat.
The play left Manning wide open. Livingstone’s pass wasn’t perfect, but Manning made an athletic play to bring down a 5-yard touchdown reception that extended the Longhorns’ lead over Arkansas to 14-6.
It’s the first quarterback receiving touchdown for the Longhorns since David Ash caught one in the 2011 Holiday Bowl against Cal.
It closed out a spotless first quarter for Manning. The redshirt sophomore quarterback completed all six of his passes for 125 yards and a touchdown.
Manning and Livingstone made it seven TD combinations in the second quarter, when Livingstone broke wide open for a 54-yard TD.
Manning’s first passing touchdown in the first quarter should find its way to the national highlight reels, too. Manning stepped through a tackle attempted by an Arkansas defensive lineman and fired a 46-yard TD to DeAndre Moore Jr.
