Can Australia avoid first winless tour of Europe in 67 years?
Good evening and welcome to live coverage of the Quilter Nations Series.

France welcome Australia to the Stade de France, as the visiting side look to avoid their first winless tour of Europe in 67 years.

After going toe-to-toe with the British and Irish Lions and notching a convincing victory over South Africa in the summer, things have spiralled for Joe Schmidt’s men in the autumn, suffering defeats against England, Italy and, most recently, Ireland.

The Wallabies were thumped 46-19 in Dublin and have now lost six of their last seven Test matches, meaning defeat in Paris would see them finish 2025 with a winning percentage of just 33.3 per cent, the worst in their history.

A defeat could also see them finish out of the world’s top six ahead of the draw for the 2027 Rugby World Cup on December 3. A victory, though, of 16 points or more, could see them climb above France, who are currently ranked fifth.

As for tonight’s host, it has been a mixed autumn so far, with a 32-17 defeat against the 10 men of South Africa being followed by a 34-21 victory over Fiji last weekend.

The Six Nations winners are aiming for a third consecutive win over Australia, something they have not achieved for nearly 50 years.

Gregory Alldritt admitted this week that the potential impact on the rankings of this game was not something on his mind. The France captain said: “To be honest, my parents called me this morning and they were the ones who told me there was something at stake in the rankings.”

Despite Australia’s form, the hosts remain wary of their opponents this evening. Line-out coach Laurent Sempere said: “They’ve been capable of big performances against big teams – the Lions, South Africa. They’ve taken impressive scalps recently, so we’re extremely wary.
