With Knicks star Jalen Brunson still out, Miles McBride was in the starting lineup again on Monday night. And even though New York lost a close game to the Heat, McBride made the most of his opportunity.
McBride had one of the best offensive games of his career, scoring 25 points on a 43.5% shooting night in 39 minutes.
Prior to McBride’s 25 on Monday, he scored nine points in each of his last three games.

McBride is averaging 8.5 points, 2.6 rebounds and 2.7 assists in 11 games so far this season.
The Knicks entered the season after falling short to the Indiana Pacers in last season’s the Eastern Conference Finals. Last year, McBride averaged 9.5 points, 2.9 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game in 64 games played. In the postseason, he had 5.8 points per game.
McBride has become a key piece for the Knicks, playing 24.9 minutes per game while averaging 9.5 points, 2.9 assists and 2.5 rebounds last season. He helped the Knicks advance to the Eastern Conference Finals, where they lost in six games to the Indiana Pacers.
In December 2023, McBride signed a $13 million extension with the Knicks over the next three years. The Knicks traded away several players throughout the season, allowing McBride to pick up more minutes in the rotation.
McBride played two seasons at West Virginia from 2019-21, leading the Mountaineers to an NCAA Tournament appearance during his sophomore year. McBride averaged 15.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.9 steals per game at WVU.
