Abdullah Mason vs. Sam Noakes full card results from 2025 boxing fight as undefeated stars contest vacant WBO crown

Abdullah Mason became the youngest current world champion in men’s boxing, edging out Sam Noakes in an instant classic for the vacant WBO lightweight title.
American Mason, 21, long touted as a top prospect in the sport, moves to 20-0 with a major belt around his waist.
However, he had to go to the well to get there, thanks to Noakes — now 17-1 after suffering his first career loss — who delivered a hellacious, blood-soaked performance that pushed the prodigious youngster to the limit.
The judges found in Mason’s favor by scores of 115-113 (twice) and 117-111, the latter a poor reflection of Noakes’ incredible effort.
Noakes drove Mason back with some early body shots before an overhand right and close-quarters exchanges gave the Englishman further encouragement.
Mason timed a wonderful left hand to the top of Noakes’ head in round two, wobbling and discomforting his foe, though Noakes fired back with a couple of meaty rights off the jab.
Noakes had greater cause for concern in round three when Mason walked him onto a peach of a right uppercut, shortly after a head clash opened a nasty cut around the Brit’s left eye. Fighting through the setback, Noakes tried to drag the American into a firefight, booming in an overhand right and landing a smart left on the inside.

The pattern continued in round four, with Mason looking exquisite when the fight was at mid-range and Noakes making an impression whenever he was able to drive forward and let heavy shots go. By the fifth, Mason had damage of his own under the left eye. Noakes continued scoring well to the body before drilling home a right upstairs.
Mason reasserted some control in round six, jabbing beautifully and controlling the distance before a rapid-fire combination appeared to stiffen Noakes’ legs.
The momentum switched back and forth in an incredible seventh as Noakes landed a withering left hook to the stomach that forced Mason to step back and gasp for air. Bleeding from the nose, Noakes piled on pressure and landed jarring head shots as the American protected his body. Once enough air returned to his lungs, Mason responded with blurring combinations, his favourite left uppercut to the fore.
In eight, it was Mason’s turn to land a sickening left to the midsection. Noakes was slowed up and exposed, his face a bloody mess by the bell. More lefts to the body backed Noakes up in 10 and he bucked under a right uppercut with 30 seconds of the round remaining.
Somehow he stayed upright and found a defiant right-hand/left-hook combination midway through the 11th before another excellent body shot persuaded Mason to circle away. It ended in the only way it could, with both men swinging and toiling with abandon. Mason’s cleaner work pinched the round and the title.
