The Canadiens and Capitals have built up quite the rivalry, and now TJ Oshie has shouted out Dylan Strome for stopping some major damage to Josh Anderson.
Last season, the Montreal Canadiens and Washington Capitals went to war in the post-season, and while it was the more experienced Capitals that came out on top, the young team made a statement.
The series was very hard fought, and after both have started well this season, there’s a chance we may see them do battle in the Stanley Cup Playoffs once more, a series that die hard and casual fans alike could enjoy.
Many outside the hockey world took notice after a major brawl between the two teams, and now, some hard feelings are potentially carrying over from that series, into the 2025/26 campaign.
TJ Oshie credits Dylan Strome for intervening in latest scuffle
During the latest contest between the two teams, things got incredibly physical and intense between Josh Anderson and Alex Ovechkin, with the two seemingly lining up to come to blows.
However, Dylan Strome was quick to get in the way, racing in to hug Anderson and pull him away from a confrontation, something that former Ovechkin teammate TJ Oshie credits for ‘saving Anderson’s life’.
While the outcome of a fight is never 100% known, people over the years in the NHL have learned to not mess with Ovechkin, and clearly, that’s a lesson that Oshie learned during his time with the Capitals.
That was something that Anderson was seemingly eager to figure out, but with the intervention of Strome, thankfully we didn’t have to see how that one would have played out.
