Disney Gives The Simpsons A Major Upgrade With A Rare Streaming Feature

Nothing ever changes in the town of Springfield, but Disney+ is changing the way fans can experience The Simpsons.
There will now be a dedicated 24/7 Simpsons channel available for subscribers to Disney’s streaming service, showing every available episode in original air-date order (via Deadline). Subscribers can still pick-and-choose which episodes to watch in the normal way, while also having the option of hitting the Simpsons channel for the old-school experience of watching whatever episode happens to be on.
Disney+ has hosted The Simpsons since the streaming service launched back in 2019, and currently offers seasons 1-36. Season 37 is currently airing on FOX and streaming on Hulu, and is set to wrap up on February 15, 2026.
Already the longest-running scripted TV series in history, The Simpsons has been renewed through season 40. The show first aired on FOX way back on December 17, 1989. 797 episodes have aired as of this publication. There was also The Simpsons Movie, released in 2007. It was recently confirmed that The Simpsons Movie 2 is headed to theaters, with a release date set for July 23, 2027.
In addition to offering most of the Simpsons back-catalog, Disney+ has released three exclusive special episodes. “O C’mon All Ye Faithful” hit the streamer during season 36, with “The Past and the Furious” and “Yellow Planet” following.
The streamer has also announced two more upcoming exclusives, “Extreme Makeover: Homer Edition,” which is set for February 15, 2026, and “Yellow Mirror,” a presumed Black Mirror parody, set to arrive some time in 2026.
Though it’s now possible to relive most of Simpsons history via Disney+, the streamer still does not offer the most controversial of all the show’s episodes, the season 3 premiere “Stark Raving Dad.”
The banned episode saw Homer being sent to a mental health facility for wearing a pink shirt, and rooming with a man named Leon Kompowsky who claimed to be pop star Michael Jackson, with the seemingly delusional man voiced by the real Jackson in an uncredited appearance.
The episode was re-run as normal after first air, but was pulled from public availability after the premiere of 2019’s Leaving Neverland, a documentary film detailing the allegations of child sexual assault against Jackson.
The Disney+ Simpsons catalog does include “Marge vs. the Monorail,” the 1993 episode named the show’s best of all-time by ScreenRant. It also includes the worst Simpsons episode of all-time as identified by ScreenRant, 2012’s “Lisa Goes Gaga,” which featured a guest appearance by Lady Gaga herself.
