Various sources have disclosed that Royal Air Maroc plans to add two US routes in 2026. It anticipates flying from Casablanca to Los Angeles—which will be a brand-new market—while resuming flights to Boston. They’re likely to begin in May in time for the peak season. A three-weekly operation would not be surprising.
It comes amid more transatlantic routes to Morocco. For example, Delta Air Lines began the first-ever service from Atlanta to Marrakech in October 2025, while Air Transat will take off from Montreal to Agadir next year. Elsewhere in Africa, it seems that United may end its Dakar operation after less than a year, while Air Transat plans the first flight from Canada to Senegal.
Royal Air Maroc To Los Angeles

As this route has not yet been officially announced, it is not currently scheduled or bookable. As such, details—such as the start date, operating period, schedule, and whether the Boeing 787-8 or the 787-9 will be used—are unknown. To increase awareness and sales, I’d not be surprised if Los Angeles flights are announced soon. WestJet has just revealed eight routes to Europe with six to seven months’ notice.
At 5,205 nautical miles (9,640 km) each way, Cirium Diio data shows that it will be Royal Air Maroc’s second-longest service by distance. Only Casablanca to Beijing Daxing will cover more distance. It will also be the sole African passenger service from Los Angeles and the wider West Coast. However, Ethiopian Airlines served Los Angeles via Dublin until 2019, while EgyptAir had Cairo-New York JFK-Los Angeles flights on the 767-300ER/777-200ER until 2001. Egypt’s flag carrier had anticipated returning to California in 2023/2024, but this did not happen. The airline recently reiterated its intention to resume California service in 2026.
Naturally, the local Casablanca-Los Angeles market is small, with barely 15,000 round-trip passengers a year. As such, the oneworld member will, of course, primarily focus on connections. Cairo is by far the most important African market (64,000 passengers), followed by Lagos (26,000), Accra (12,000), Marrakech (9,000), Tunis (8,000), and Abidjan (8,000). Depending on the schedule, it’ll also capture some passengers flying to Southern Europe, particularly Spain.
Royal Air Maroc Served Boston Until 2020

The US Department of Transportation indicates that the carrier flew to Massachusetts between June 2019 and early 2020. The pandemic meant that flights stopped before they really started. The same source shows that it carried 31,000 passengers, but only filled half (!) of its available seats. While loads of 70%+ were achieved in the peak summer, they fell quickly thereafter, with many months of 40% to 50% loads. The early onset of COVID-19 probably influenced it.
The carrier had three weekly flights to Boston, mainly on the 274-seat 787-8. This will probably be the frequency and equipment in 2026. In July 2019, AT210 left Morocco at 5:05 pm and arrived in the US at 7:30 pm local time. Returning, AT211 departed at 9:15 pm and returned at 8:50+1 am local time. Unsurprisingly, this corresponded to its peak wave of US flights.

It Would Have Record Flights To North America

Let’s assume the airline does add Boston and Los Angeles. If it does, it’d have five US routes, two more than in 2025. Assuming three weekly flights to Boston and Los Angeles, the carrier will have 30 weekly departures to the US next July. They’d be up from 24 weekly in the same month in 2025, which is a growth of 25%.
Including Canada shows seven North American routes: New York JFK (double daily), Montreal (double daily), Washington Dulles (daily), Boston (three weekly), Los Angeles (three weekly), Miami (three weekly), and Toronto (three weekly). Some 47 weekly one-way flights would be available in the peak summer, up from 41 year-over-year and just 33 in July 2019.
