UPDATED: Snow emergencies called across southern Minnesota

MANKATO, Minn. (KEYC) – Several cities across southern Minnesota have declared a snow emergency.
While some cities are automatically in a snow emergency when it snows more than 2”, the following cities have specifically called a snow emergency.
MANKATO
The city of Mankato has called a snow emergency from 8pm Sunday to 8am Monday.
During a snow emergency, there is no parking on City streets to allow for quick and efficient snow removal.
The exception to the no parking rule during a snow emergency is vehicles are allowed to park on the side of streets marked “Seasonal No Parking”. View a mapshowing “Seasonal No Parking” areas.
Temporary parking is available at no cost in the Mankato Place and Civic Center parking ramps. Parking is also allowed in yards during snow emergencies.
NEW ULM
A DOWNTOWN SNOW EMERGENCY has been declared forMONDAY, December 1, from 1:30 AMto completion.During this time vehicles parked within the signed downtown snow emergency route will be tagged and towed.Overnight parking during the snow emergency is available in the parking lot at 3rd North and German Street, and in the City Hall parking lot. Please do not park in anyone’s leased parking spaces.
SLEEPY EYE
The City of Sleepy Eye is declaring a downtown snow emergency for tonight (11/30/2025) at 10 PM. Vehicles in the downtown area will haveuntil midnightto move to off street parking.
WASECA
Based on weather conditions and current forecast, the City of Waseca is declaring a Snow Emergency, beginning at 1:00 AM Sunday, November 30th.
Please remove all vehicles from city streets until the snow has been cleared from curb to curb.

ST. JAMES
The City of St. James has declared a SNOW EMERGENCY which goes into effect at 10 a.m. onSaturday 11/29/2025 thru Sunday 11/30/2025 at 2pm.
All vehicles need to be removed from city streets by 10 a.m. until the street has been plowed curb to curb. Any vehicle parked on city streets after 10a.m. will be issued a $125.00 parking ticket and can/will be towed at the owner’s expense.
LE SUEUR
The City of Le Sueur is declaring a snow emergency starting on Saturday,
November 29, 2025 at 12:00pm through Sunday, November 30, 2025 at 12:00am or as otherwise
noted on our website and social media pages. All vehicles must be removed from City streets during this time.
Declaring a snow emergency enables our Public Works division to adequately clear snow, curb-to-curb, allowing for safe passage of traffic on our city streets. If there are updates, they can be found on the City of Le Sueur’s website (www.cityoflesueur.com) or the City of Le Sueur Facebook page (www.facebook.com/cityoflesueur).
Any vehicles in violation of the snow emergency are subject to being ticketed and towed beginning at 12:00pm on Saturday afternoon.
WINDOM
The City of Windom has declared a snow emergencystarting at midnight(Saturday) and lastinguntil 9:00 AM Sunday (Nov 30th). All vehicles must be removed from City streets. Parking is available in City lots.

Please remove all vehicles from City Streets bymidnight tonight(Nov 29th )until 9:00 AM on Sunday, November 30th.
MOUNTAIN LAKE
MOUNTAIN LAKE IS IN A SNOW EMERGENCYFROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT UNTIL NOON ON SUNDAY. VEHICLES MUST BE OFF THE STREETS UNTIL PLOWED CURB TO CURB.

EAGLE LAKE
The Public Works Department has declared a Snow Emergency effective today, Saturday, November 29, from 12:00 PM to 12:00 AM (midnight). During this time, residents must avoid parking on any City street. Snow Emergency Declared – Effective Noon to Midnight
It is unlawful to park, stop, or leave a vehicle on any City street during a declared snow emergency until the emergency has been lifted and the street has been plowed curb to curb.
Additionally, Public Works is currently operating one plow shortdue to a lift cylinder malfunction requiring replacement parts. We appreciate residents’ patience as crews work as efficiently as possible under these reduced conditions.
Snow Emergency Parking Rules: It is unlawful to park, stop, or leave a vehicle standing on any City street during a declared snow emergency until the street has been plowed curb to curb. Vehicles in violation may be towed in accordance with Minnesota State Statute 169.041.
