‘I’m looking forward to home renovations’ – says member of Lotto syndicate after scooping €1m

The winning ticket was purchased at Circle K Dodder on Rathfarnham Road, Rathfarnham, Dublin 14.
“I picked up the results in the shop and manually went through them, comparing the results to my ticket,” the syndicate manager said.
“As I went through, I was ticking the numbers off, not thinking we would ever have a top prize win. I was saying to myself that we matched four numbers, then five, and then never expected to be saying we had all six numbers.
“I called another syndicate member immediately, who couldn’t believe it.”
Since discovering their win, the syndicate manager has kept the ticket carefully hidden in their kitchen while deciding how to enjoy the windfall.
“I am looking forward to planning a few home renovations and maybe some nice trips around Ireland too,” they added.
Another Dublin syndicate had a surprise of their own after winning €500,000 in the EuroMillions Plus draw on Friday, November 4. Their ticket was purchased at Donnybrook Fair on Morehampton Road, Dublin 4.
“I was visiting a family member when I decided to pop into the shop to pick up our ticket,” one winner said.
“A few days later, I noticed I had two tickets in my pocket to check. There was nothing on the first one, and when I checked this one, I saw something but had no idea how much.
“To be honest, I didn’t even know that there was a €500,000 win that night. I assumed it was a smaller prize, so I rang the Claims Team to find out and it was only then that I realised.
“I’m sure the person on the end of the line could hear how shocked I was!” they added.
The EuroMillions Plus winners are now planning a celebratory holiday to mark their big win.
Meanwhile, an o nline player in Sligo was still pinching themselves after winning €80,000 on the Hand to Hand Clash Instant Win game.
“I must have logged in and checked the ticket about 1,000 times. I couldn’t and still can’t believe it!” they said.
