Brandon Lake Debuts Stripped-Back Versions of His Biggest Hits on Amazon Music’s Songline

Brandon Lake just became the first Christian artist Amazon Music has highlighted with its Songline spotlight, a series which has previously included artists like Billie Eilish, Ed Sheeran, Laufey and The Lumineers.
The full video performance premieres today on Amazon Music, featuring nine reimagined versions of Lake’s biggest songs, including “When A Cowboy Prays.” Songline pairs intimate, stripped-back performances with interviews that unpack how each track is built from the ground up.
“I hope fans can see a bit of my songwriting process that happens before a song ever reaches a stage or a stream,” Lake said. “It felt really special to be able to pull back the curtain with Songline and show not only how songs are made, but their impact on fans and the artists and songwriters that wrote them.”
The spotlight comes during a banner run for Lake. King of Hearts debuted at No. 1 across Billboard’s Top Rock, Top Rock and Alternative and Top Christian charts, while “Hard Fought Hallelujah” spent more than 20 weeks atop the Christian chart, hit the Hot 100 and earned a CMA nomination with Jelly Roll. He also popped up on American Idol and Jimmy Kimmel Live! — not exactly standard stops for a worship artist.
