Miss Jamaica to remain hospitalized in ICU for at least another week after tumbling off Miss Universe stage

Miss Jamaica Gabrielle Henry is expected to remain hospitalized for at least another week after her brutal fall from the Miss Universe stage in Thailand on Wednesday
“Gabby isn’t doing as well as we would have hoped, but the hospital continues to treat her accordingly,” her concerned sister told the Miss Universe Jamaica organization on Friday.
The 28-year-old contestant — flanked by her mother and sister at Paolo Rangsit Hospital in Thailand — has been ordered to stay in the intensive care unit for at least seven days as doctors continue to closely monitor her and provide specialized care, the organization said in a post shared on Instagram.

No further details were released about her condition.
Henry was strutting down the Bangkok stage in a glamorous orange gown when she toppled off the dark runway and face-planted into the crowd during the preliminary evening-gown round at the 47th annual Miss Universe pageant, according to shocking footage shared on social media.
Members of the audience could be seen immediately jumping up in their seats to check on her, with additional footage capturing the beauty queen being carried away on a stretcher.

Henry was rushed to the Thailand hospital, where officials said Thursday she miraculously escaped with no life-threatening injuries and didn’t break a single bone.
This is just one of numerous scandals to make waves at the 47th annual Miss Universe pageant.
Miss Universe judge Omar Harfouch abruptly resigned from the pageant’s official jury just days before this year’s competition kicked off.

Harfouch alleged that an “impromptu jury” with personal ties to participating contestants had already chosen which contestants would move forward out of the 136 women competing.
Miss Universe executive Nawat Itsaragrisil was also dismissed from this year’s pageant following his shocking confrontation with Miss Mexico Fátima Bosch, which led to a dozen other Miss Universe participants walking out of a pre-pageant event in solidarity with her.

Miss Mexico went on to win the event.
Organizers are now urging fans to pray for Henry, an ophthalmologist and the founder of the See Me Foundation, which is a charity helping the visually impaired people in Jamaica.
“During this profoundly difficult time, the Miss Universe Jamaica Organization is earnestly calling on Jamaicans at home and across the Diaspora to continue keeping Gabrielle in their prayers,” official said.
“We also encourage friends, supporters, and well-wishers worldwide to join in lifting her in love, strengthen, and hope. We respectfully ask the public and social media users to avoid sharing negative comments, misinformation, or speculation that may cause further distress to the family.”
