Fans are sending love and prayers to restaurateur and TV personality Guy Fieri after he shared a tribute to his father on social media.
“Happy 83rd birthday to my hero, My dad ‘Jamps,’” he wrote on Instagram. “We miss you everyday and appreciate all the life lessons and guidance. Happy birthday wise old owl!!”
Fieri’s father, Jim Ferry, died on Jan. 27, 2024, after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
Fans were quick to shower Fieri’s comment sections with support.
“Happy Heavenly Birthday to your dad! Cherish all the beautiful memories,” one user wrote.
“One of the GOATs!” another user wrote. “You can measure a large % of mans greatness on how the youth looks at him. I knew he was a great husband, father and person 50 plus years ago.”
“Happy birthday pops! May your legacy live on forever!!” another wrote.
Prior to his father’s death, Fieri discussed coping with a loved one’s battle with cancer and highlighted his father’s strength.
“He’s been a great advocate for people that have gone through it,” Fieri said to People Magazine in 2022. “Because there’s not a lot of knowledge about it. It’s not a great success rate. But I think you got to live every single day. That’s the biggest thing, is you never know what tomorrow’s going to bring.”
Fieri’s sister, Jules, also died of cancer in 2011, suffering from metastatic melanoma. Fieri has since raised his nephew, also named Jules.
