Premier League continue to neglect Aston Villa fans as new announcement drops

Thu 20 November 2025 16:00, UK

Aston Villa fans have booed the Premier League anthem before almost every game at Villa Park this season.

Villa struggled with PSR regulations over the summer, as Unai Emery and Monchi were forced to work within them.

The Villans were forced to make big decisions, with Jacob Ramsey’s exit to Newcastle United being arguably the most controversial.

Supporters feel as if Villa’s struggles with PSR haven’t been reflected among the Premier League “big six,” leading to sizable frustrations in B6.

The division’s organisers haven’t helped themselves with their latest announcement, which has left Villa fans enraged and further isolated.

Aston Villa vs Everton fixture moved by Premier League

Aston Villa are set to travel to face Leeds United in their next Premier League outing in yet another Sunday clash for the claret and blue outfit.

Due to playing Europa League football, which has become a constant part of the matchday experience for travelling fans.

That isn’t the case for the clash at Elland Road, but due to Sky Sports, the game was moved to be featured on television.

The Premier League have now replicated that decision, but with the upcoming clash between Villa and Everton at Villa Park.

Three of our upcoming 2026 @PremierLeague fixtures have been subject to amendments 📋

The fixture was initially listed as a 3pm kick-off on a Saturday, but has now been changed to a 4:30pm kick-off on a Sunday.

This is totally unnecessary and has caused friction on social media, especially given that it was the last time Villa played at 3pm on a Saturday.

Aston Villa will go a year without a Saturday 3pm kick off

Supporters may struggle to remember when they last travelled to B6 to watch Villa play at the traditional English football time.

Now that the Everton fixture has been changed, the Villans will have gone over a year without a Saturday 3pm kick-off.

They last did so when they drew 1-1 with Ipswich Town as Ollie Watkins netted at the Holte End to cancel out an earlier Liam Delap strike.

Villa could play Leeds United at 3pm on a Saturday on 21 February 2026, should the Premier League opt not to change the fixture once again.

Fans just want to watch their team play at a normal time, rather than be constantly neglected and forced to abide by whatever the Premier League want.
