Revealed: Aston Villa destined for remarkable landmark after Premier League schedule confirmed

Unai Emery’s team last played in front of their own fans in the once traditional kick-off time when they drew 1-1 with Ipswich Town on February 15.

And the wait for a home 3pm kick-off in the league is now guaranteed to extend beyond 12 months after the top flight announced further changes to the upcoming schedule.

Villa’s match against Everton, originally scheduled for Saturday January 17, will now take place on Sunday January 18 at 4.30pm after being selected for live broadcast by Sky Sports.

With the visit of Brentford now also confirmed for Sunday February 1 (2pm), due to Villa’s involvement in the Europa League the preceding Thursday, it means the club’s earliest possible Saturday 3pm home match this season is now against Leeds on February 21.

That date is also subject to change, depending on future fixture announcements.

Villa’s trip to Newcastle has also been pushed back 24 hours to Sunday January 25 (2pm) as part of the latest rescheduling, with Emery’s men playing away to Fenerbahce in the Europa League the preceding Thursday.

Wolves have also seen a fixture change, with their home match against the Magpies moved back from Saturday to Sunday January 17 (2pm), for live broadcast on Sky Sports.
