Could AI and 3D printing replace tradies in the future?

Can homes built by a gaggle of software engineers instead of teams of tradies really help solve our housing crisis?
When A Current Affair visited one Sydney home, celebrity award-winning designer Jamie Durie said the property went from an empty plot to lock-up in under two weeks.
The wave-like walls, which are made from recycled concrete, support the second storey.
Durie believes 3D printed homes are the future.
“We’re 85,000 to 87,000 tradies short of achieving 1.2 million homes in the next five years,” he said.
“So, you know, at some point, some of this building industry needs to be automated so that we can actually keep up with the demand.”
