Gorka Marquez has been flooded with support as he revealed a ‘pinch me moment’ during his time away from Strictly Come Dancing.
The professional dancer has stepped back from competing in the hit dance contest this year, with the news coming months after it was confirmed he would be returning as a pro this year by the BBC.
At the time, he revealed that he wouldn’t be getting a celebrity partner this year because he was heading back to a judging role on the Spanish version of Strictly, Bailando con las Estrellas, which is a position he first took on last year.
While he was part of the pre-recording of the show’s group numbers, which continue to be played out throughout the series, Gorka hasn’t been seen live in the ballroom so far this year, with Bailando con las estrellas also taking place on a Saturday evening, but he is set to return in a matter of weeks.
But in the meantime, Gorka has revealed he is Men’s Health’s latest cover star and took to Instagram on Monday morning (November 24) with a look at his starring moment – with the Spanish star taking to the magazine’s cover baring his tone physique and showing off a number of tattoos.
Resharing the post from the Men’s Health account, the caption read: “@gorka_marquez fronts our December issue of Men’s Health. By trade he’s a dancer, but behind the sequins is a man built not by glamour, but by grit and a love of training right up to the point where he ‘feels like he’s going to throw up’.
“In our exclusive interview, Márquez opens up about the mindset that drives him, how he’s training for a sub-60 minute Hyrox and finding pleasure in pain.”

Sharing the post to his Instagram Story, Gorka admitted: “A pinch me moment,” while his fiancee, Hits Radio host Gemma Atkinson, also put the post on her profile and said: “Casual Men’s Health cover for Gorks [clapping emojis].”
Meanwhile, his Strictly co-stars, friends and fans were also keen to show their support. Strictly’s new pro Julian Caillon said: “Yes @gorka_marquez!! King.” Johannes Radebe commented: “Papi [love heart emojis],” while dance partner Karen Hauer posted: “Chamo! [raising hands and clapping emojis].” Nikita Kuzmin replied: “Damn gorks.”
