Two dead and several injured in multi-vehicle crash involving bus and lorry in Co Meath

The collision, involving a lorry, a bus and a car, occurred on the R132 in Gormanston at approximately 6.30am.
The male driver of the lorry (aged his 40’s) and the male driver of the bus (aged in his 50’s) were pronounced deceased at the scene.
The female driver of the car (aged in her 40’s) was conveyed to Beaumont Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
The female passenger of the car (aged in her teens) was initially conveyed to our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, and transferred to Temple Street Children’s Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.
A number of people have also been taken to hospital to be treated for injuries believed to be non-life-threatening at this time.
A spokesperson for Bus Éireann said: “Bus Éireann can confirm one of our route 101 services has been involved in a critical road traffic collision involving other vehicles in the Gormanstown Cross area of county Meath this morning.
“Emergency services and Bus Éireann personnel are currently at the scene.
“We will provide further information as it becomes available.”
The 101 route serves Dublin to Drogheda via Balbriggan.
The road remains closed, and local diversions are in place, a Garda spokesperson said.

The R132 is currently closed pending technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators, with local diversions in place.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.
Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were traveling on the R132, at Gormanstown, Co. Meath, between 5.45am and 6.45am this morning, Monday 24th November 2025, are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.

Separately, emergency services are currently at the scene of a multi-vehicle car crash on the M1 in Co Louth.
The incident took place shortly before 8.45am this morning near junction 10 on the M1 northbound, just west of Drogheda.
The motorway remains closed and all lanes are affected, a spokesperson for the Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) has said.
They advised road users of “significant delays” when travelling and said to “use a different route for their journey”.
A spokesperson said of the incident: “Between J10 (N51) Drogheda (North) and J11 Monasterboice (1 kilometre north of the Tullyallen area). Road closure due to a multi-vehicle collision. All lanes affected.”
“Significant delays to your journey will occur. Please use a different route for your journey,” they added.
A Garda spokesperson said: “Gardaí and emergency services are at the scene of a road traffic collision on the M1 northbound near junction 10, which occurred shortly before 8:45am.”
“As this incident is ongoing, there are no further details at this time,” they added.
