‘The Sun’ Reports Taylor Swift Filmed “Opalite” Video in London With Two Big Celeb Cameos

- The Sun reports that Taylor Swift has been filming the video for “Opalite” in London.
- The top-secret video is said to be “festive themed” and has multiple celebrity cameos.
- According to the outlet, the video will drop in December so…stay tuned!
Update on Taylor Swift allegedly filming a secret music video! In case you missed it, British outlet The Sun reported that the Grammy-winner was in London filming the “top secret” video for “Elizabeth Taylor.” But it looks like she was actually (er, also????) filming the video for “Opalite.”
Take all of this with a hefty grain of salt, but The Sun now reports that Taylor was seen filming some “festive-themed” footage in a Croydon shopping centre—with cameos from Lewis Capaldi and Domnhall Gleeson.
Per an insider, “This video was shrouded in secrecy, with Taylor’s security team working day and night to ensure she wasn’t sighted at any point. It was like a military operation. But she IS the most powerful woman in pop, so if she wants to go unseen, she’ll make it happen.”
An onlooker added, “Extras in retro dress were spotted exiting the venue, along with festive props including Christmas trees, glitter cannons and tinsel. Banana milkshake was used for eggnog, while grape juice stood in for posh champagne. Security was really tight. Taylor and her cast were given numbers instead of names, and were whisked between cars and buildings under a fortress of umbrellas and screens to keep the whole project under wraps. You’ve never seen secrecy like it.”
Oh, AND there’s this: “Some shops were informed of filming, but they were told it was for an insurance commercial—something suitably boring that wouldn’t arouse suspicion. The budget was massive, around £1million. Hiring out the shopping centre alone would have cost several hundreds of thousands of pounds, even if it is tired. Of course, it was decorated and dressed up to look Christmassy. It has a nostalgic feel, like Love Actually meets a John Lewis advert.”
So….when does this (alleged!) video drop? Per the source, “It’s all come together fairly last-minute and a plan was only devised about three weeks ago. ‘Opalite’ will have a December release and Taylor is on course for a Christmas number one.”
I’m ready for it.
