Kate Hore, Tyla Hanks and Maeve Chaplin have been named in the AFLW All Australian team
THREE Demons have been recognised for their outstanding 2025 campaigns, named in the AFLW All Australian team.
This is a maiden for selection for both Tyla Hanks and Maeve Chaplin while Melbourne captain Kate Hore collects her fourth All-Australian jacket and has been named as vice-captain.
The final team of 21 players was announced on Monday night at the 2025 AFLW Awards, selected from an extended squad of 42 players.
The Dees’ skipper has earned the honour off the back of an inspiring individual campaign where she led her side to a preliminary final.
The midfield-forward kicked 24 goals from 15 matches in 2025, the third highest tally across the season and became the second player to reach 100 career goals during the team’s qualifying final against Brisbane.
Her scoreboard impact was also exhibited in her ability to involve her teammates, collecting 11 goal assists for the year, the most of any player in the competition.
Hore averaged the most disposals of her career at 21 touches per game, spending more time at centre bounces and adding more midfield minutes to her extensive resume.
Vice-captain Hanks has finally been given the nod of approval from the selectors after being named in the extended All Australian squad on three occasions previously.
The smooth-moving midfielder stood out in 2025, her class with ball-in-hand among the best in the competition.
The former Rising Star hit career-high numbers across the stats sheet averaging 23 disposals, seven tackles and 4.5 inside 50s.
Chaplin first put her name in the minds of selectors last year, named in the extended squad for the first time. Now, 12 months on, she has continued her steady rise to the top, formerly named in the backline of the final 21.
The 23-year-old has had arguably one of the most impressive trajectories to her career. She was delisted in 2022, became a premiership player in the same year and now, three years on, Chaplin is an All-Australian defender.
This year she averaged a career-high 18 disposals and 8.5 intercepts (fourth highest in the league), a clear pillar of strength among Melbourne’s backline.
