THE AFL is thrilled to share that last weekend’s NAB AFLW Preliminary Finals delivered its highest attended finals weekend since 2019, with more than 13,500 fans turning out to support their clubs on the penultimate weekend of the season.

As the competition heads towards the NAB AFLW Grand Final in its millstone 10th season, last weekend’s crowds saw a 52 per cent increase on last year’s preliminary final crowds and the highest attended AFLW Preliminary Final weekend since 2019.

The North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos v Melbourne clash attracted 7,057 fans, becoming the highest attended AFLW Finals match across Weeks 1–3 since the 2019 Preliminary Final at Ikon Park between Carlton and Fremantle, and the third-highest attended match of the 2025 NAB AFLW season.

Meanwhile, the Brisbane Lions v Carlton preliminary final delivered the second-highest crowd ever recorded at Brighton Homes Arena, exceeded only by the 2022 NAB AFLW Grand Final.

General Manager AFLW – Emma Moore said the weekend’s crowds set a platform for a massive NAB AFLW Grand Final week.

“To see this level of support at this point in the season is a huge credit to the clubs, the players, and the fans who continue to show up,” Moore said.

“These crowds demonstrate the momentum we have built in 2025 and heading into Grand Final week, we are witnessing extraordinary athletes, a competition that has never been stronger and a celebration of an outstanding 10th season capped by a quality football match between the Kangaroos and Lions on Saturday night.”

The 2025 NAB AFLW Grand Final will take place on Saturday, 29 November at 7.45pm at Ikon Park between the North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos and the Brisbane Lions.

Tickets for the 2025 NAB AFLW Grand Final go on sale via Ticketmaster today, Monday 24 November, with a priority sales window having opened at 12pm (AEDT) for competing club and AFL members and at 2pm (AEDT) for the general public.
