HPD officer stabbed in the head while responding to mental health call in Downtown Houston, police say

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) — Authorities say an HPD officer was stabbed in the head in Downtown Houston on Sunday night.
According to police, officers were responding to a mental health crisis call when the officer was stabbed at 300 Milam Street. Another responding officer shot the suspect, who died at the scene.
ABC13 was in downtown, where several streets around the Theater District were closed off with caution tape.
The officer is expected to be OK.
