Her move will hit Mancunian rapper Aitch, 25, when he takes on the Night Night, Sleep Tight Bushtucker Trial this evening.

The celebs will be told by ITV chiefs that they have discovered contraband – and as a result they have lost one star won by Aitch.

There will also be a contraband amnesty – meaning any other campmates who have snuck items in can give them up without punishment.

Once they have all fessed up, their dinner will be delivered.

As she helped cook with her salt on last night’s show, Alex said: “I can get a little stir-fry thing going on and add some flavours in. I know people are gonna be happy with that.”

The meal went down a treat with campmates – some of whom said it was the best grub they have had yet in the jungle.

But eagle-eyed producers spotted Alex making it extra-tasty with seasoning – which is strictly forbidden in the Aussie camp.

Show presenter Dec Donnelly, 50, later said: “I think it was contraband… watch this space.”

His co-host Ant McPartlin, speaking in a video on the Geordie pair’s Instagram, said: “Alex seasoning the dinner!”

Dec said: “So we think it’s a sachet of salt that she’s nicked from the hotel and she’s had in her bag for a week.”

Ant banged a table and shouted: “There will be punishments!”

Speaking on I’m A Celeb spin-off show Unpacked about Alex taking in the salt, former 2022 winner and ex-Lioness Jill Scott said: “I am surprised by Alex doing it as I thought she would follow the rules, actually.”

And comedian Seann Walsh said: “I was surprised by how indiscreet Alex was with putting the salt on.”

Celebs are searched before going into camp to check for banned items such as food, seasoning and hygiene items.

On last year’s series, Radio 1 DJ Dean McCullough took teabags into camp to drink with his fellow campmates.

He later revealed he stashed them in his water bottle holder.

Dean said: “I was just leaving my hotel room, and I spotted the teabags on the side. I was about to be taken into camp, and I thought, ‘You’re coming with me’.”

In 2010, TV presenter Gillian McKeith hid herbs and spices in her underwear.
