The Widower has landed on Netflix, with viewers keen to discover the fate of all of Malcom Webster’s victims, including his second wife Felicity Drumm.
The three-part true crime drama The Widower, which initially aired in 2014 on ITV, is now available for viewing on Netflix, delving into the life and crimes of Malcolm Webster.
Portrayed by Inside No. 9 star Reece Shearsmith, The Widower tells the story of real-life convicted murderer Malcolm Webster who killed his first wife Claire Morris (Sheridan Smith) and claimed over £200,000 on life insurance policies he took out in her name in 1994.
Given that he managed to evade justice for murder, nurse Malcolm didn’t stop there as two years later, he met Felicity Drumm (Kate Fleetwood) at a dinner party in Saudi Arabia.
They were both employed at the same hospital in the Gulf when they began dating, with him proposing in January 1997 and tying the knot in New Zealand in April 1997.

What happened to Malcolm Webster’s second wife Felicity Drumm?
Throughout their marriage, Webster consistently drugged Felicity with sedatives, causing her to fall into a deep sleep, with one instance lasting 36 hours during their honeymoon.
She would also suffer from double vision and difficulty walking due to the effects of the drugs.
It was then in 1999 that Webster planned to claim more than £750,000 in life insurance money by deliberately crashing their car in Auckland.
He recklessly zigzagged the car between lanes, alleging there was an issue with the wheel. However, when Felicity, who was pregnant with their son at the time, took hold of it, she found nothing amiss.
Surviving the incident, she later discovered he had withdrawn approximately NZD $140,000 from their shared bank account and taken out several life insurance policies in her name.

Moreover, he was responsible for three house fires, including one at her parents’ residence.
Webster managed to flee before facing any consequences, but in 2006, Felicity’s sister, while visiting the UK, happened to discuss the incident and Claire Morris’ death with a police officer, prompting the reopening of the investigation.
In 2011, Felicity journeyed from New Zealand to the UK to testify against her husband in what became one of Scotland’s lengthiest criminal trials in history.
Webster was subsequently convicted of murder, attempted murder, fraud, theft and attempted bigamy as he sought to wed Simone Banarjee.
He received a life sentence with a minimum term of 30 years.
Since his conviction, Felicity has largely avoided public attention and is thought to be residing in New Zealand with their son.
The Widower can be viewed on Netflix.
