Who is David Moyes?
David Moyes was born on April 25, 1963, in Glasgow, Scotland.
He is a football manager and former pro player with a career spanning well over four decades
Moyes developed a passion for football from an early age, heavily influenced by his father, who worked as a scout and a coach.
He began his playing career as a centre-back, going on to represent clubs including Celtic, Bristol City, Cambridge United and Preston North End.

He later transitioned into management with great success, with two spells at Everton, an ill-fated 10 months at Manchester United, as well as stints at Real Sociedad, Sunderland and West Ham.
Moyes led West Ham United to Uefa Conference League glory in 2023 – the club’s first major trophy in over 40 years.
Over the years, he has won multiple awards, including Manager of the Year from the League Managers Association on three occasions with Everton – 2003, 2005 and 2009.
Moyes was even appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the 2025 New Year Honours.
Who is David Moyes wife Pamela?
Moyes is married to Pamela, whom he met over three decades ago at a disco at the Winnock Hotel in Drymen, Stirlingshire.
At the time, he was a young Celtic player and a wee bit full of himself.
Asked how he and Pamela fell in love, Moyes reportedly joked: “She saw me once, and, well, that was it.”
Football is very much the family business – and Pamela is no exception.
She was even with her husband when he was FIRED by Manchester United while sitting on Germany and Real Madrid icon Toni Kroos’ sofa.
The Scot only lasted 10 months at Old Trafford following Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement 11 years ago.
Moyes and Pamela were in Bavaria securing the signature of the midfielder when the then-Red Devils manager got the chop.
Kroos told SPORT1: “In 2014, before I signed with Real Madrid, I had already agreed with Manchester United. That would have been a move from Bayern to United.
“But then they kicked out David Moyes, who I was still sitting on my couch with in Munich.
“It was very nice for him to be sitting in our house with his wife.

“Then they hired Louis van Gaal. And we both politely declined.”
The playmaker eventually struck a deal with Real Madrid and the rest is history.
Speaking about his return to Everton in January 2025, Moyes told Sky Sports: “I had 11-and-a-half years here. I got to know everybody so well. It generally just felt like a family. My family was so close to it as well.
“My dad was going everywhere, supported by my dad, too much drinking, pubs, different places.
“My son was here. My wife, we were always involved. We were fully immersed in it completely. Then I left because I felt it was right. I felt I didn’t want to overstay my welcome, time to go.”
How many children do couple have?
David and Pamela Moyes are the parents of two children together.
Their daughter Lauren has tended to stay out of the spotlight, but has been seen occasionally in the stands cheering her dad’s teams on.
And she not only supports her dad in the stadiums, but also when he received his OBE.

As the Everton boss’ dad, David Moyes Sr, exclusively told The Scottish Sun in June 2025: “The trip down for David to get his OBE was a proud moment.
“You only get four invitations and he obviously took his wife Pamela and his children David and Lauren.
“His brother Kenneth and I were down with them and it was a great experience.”
David senior was also awarded an MBE in 2000 – as well a knighthood from the Icelandic government – for his services to education.
David Jr has also made a career out of the beautiful game.
He worked with his dad at West Ham United as a first team scout.
According to reports from November 2025, David Jr is set to be appointed to a European scouting role at Everton.
Before these scouting roles, he also worked as a football agent, managing the careers of pro players.
And it looks like he would like to follow in his fathers footsteps into management.

In July 2025, David Jr wrote on LinkedIn: “Happy to share, I have successfully graduated from the UEFA Certificate in Football Management (UEFA CFM)
